Merry Christmas From Us

Well it’s almost Christmas and it’s really starting to feel very Christmassy! While some stores and retail outlets were more than amply decorated months prior – most homes have only recently scouted around for a suitable pine branch, or dragged the tree out of storage. The excitement of children is contagious as they anticipate the arrival of Santa and over the festive season it just seems that folk are kinder to each other and there are smiles aplenty (although that could be nothing short of joy at time off work – so says the cynic!).

As the Christmas closedown period approaches, we at the News are looking forward to some deadline-free time, along with some rest and relaxation – we hope you’re all getting some of the same. We love being in this business and hearing all the achievements, things that annoy a few, and awards received by those in our community. It’s this that keeps us and the News ticking, and we sincerely thank all our contributors, along with those who alert us to newsworthy happenings in the District. Of course the real thanks go to our Advertisers. Without their support there would, of course, be no News at all. By their contribution they ensure there’s a copy of the paper in your mailbox either monthly, or weekly and we can’t thank them enough. We know it’s been a tough year for a few small businesses and we can only hope that confidence gets back on track and allows us all to keep doing what we do best.

We wish all our readers a very happy festive season, please be kind to each other and please be safe on the roads. If you’re heading away for a much deserved holiday – enjoy – and if you’re having a drink or two, have one for us! (Only not when you’re driving!).

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Jan and Jan, and the team at  Malvern News!
