South Island Synchronised Swimming Champs


On June 2nd and 3rd, and for the first time in ten years, the South Island Synchronised Swimming Championships were held in Christchurch. Not only were they held in the Province but they were hosted by local Weedons Swim School, Small Strokes. The Championships took place at Jellie Park Pool and attracted swimmers from Invercargill, Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch.

“Small Strokes Synchro (the only Christchurch Club) performed extremely well,” reported Small Strokes principal, Joan Billing, “and they delighted the crowd with their routines.”

The competition was run in two parts: Figures on Saturday: Routines on Sunday.
