Art Couture NZ hosted their inaugural fashion show at The Vineyard, Rossendale in Tai Tapu on October 12th. Art Couture was created by four women from South West Christchurch and Selwyn (Lee Parker, Ros March, Judy Sachdeva and Kim Strange) who had the desire to provide a local wearable arts competition. The evening was an outstanding success, with many of the garments leaving the audience and judges alike, totally amazed. Selwyn judges Kelly Morrison, Loretta Sloan, Blanche Fryer and Steve Henderson had the unenviable task of selecting winners in each of the five sections. No mean feat looking at the talented and creative entries submitted. The overall extremely high standard made the selection of a supreme winner incredibly difficult.
